David, Beginner Piano/Voice/Guitar
David grew up with a musical family in Independence Missouri and began his music training at a very early age. In preschool, his parents began his musical training on violin. However, he finally settled on the piano at the age of 6 and been playing ever since. He also joined the Music Arts Institute children’s choir in Independence, where he developed his passion for choral music. He started playing the guitar when he was 11, and later began training under John Svoboda as a classical guitarist when he was 14.
He picked up the ukulele in high school and took it with him everywhere he went. He has also since then become proficient with the bass guitar as well as many other obscure instruments.
Currently, David attends the conservatory at UMKC where he is striving for a vocal music education degree. He hopes to become a choir director someday. He studies voice under Dale Morehouse, chair of vocal studies at the conservatory, and guitar under Douglas Niedt, famed classical guitarist and head of the guitar program at the conservatory.
He loves classical music, blues, jazz, rock, and especially choral music. He also enjoys many different instruments, and owns a dynamic collection of them.
David wants to be able to share the gift of music to as many people as he can because he believes he can make a positive impact on the world through music teaching.
